Any Spanish speakers?

Below is a self-explanatory request for volunteers. I've worked with Dan for over 30 years and can vouch for his prudence and effectiveness. You would not be wasting your time if you were to take up his offer.

The Latin American

Alliance

for the Family (ALAFA), a pro-life organization based in

Caracas

,

Venezuela

with offices in the

US

, is looking for a pro-life lawyer with Spanish-speaking ability to participate in its US-Latin American Legal Committee.

The Legal Committee evaluates the legal situation in

Latin America

and attempts to provide information and advice to our Latin American legal experts to assist them in defending pro-life laws in their countries.

The Legal Committee’s most recent action was to request and facilitate amicus briefs from US experts for presentation to the

Constitutional Court
in

Colombia

, which is currently considering a challenge to

Colombia

’s pro-life legislation by pro-abortion activists backed by strong international support. Our Legal Committee was successful in getting numbers of top

US

experts (including Professor Mary Anne Glendon of Harvard) to submit pro-life briefs.

One of our current needs is to add one or two lawyers or law professors with bi-lingual ability to our committee. The current make-up of the committee has about seven

US

participants, but only one of those is fluent in Spanish. The addition of at least one or two committee members with Spanish-language ability would be very helpful.

This is a volunteer position.

For more information, please contact me (Dan Zeidler, ALAFA representative in the

U.S.

) at 414-771-2965 or 414-218-3769.

Thank you.
